Jason,

I subscribed with the first issue you published and absolutely love the magazine. In the November/December issue I especially liked the addition of "Voices from the West" and see you will also have "Voices from the East."

Great mix of content from historicals to "how-to" to some contemporary hunting stories to info on some pretty exceptional artisans. Keep up the great work.

Mike,
Thank you! Voices from the East was added in the September/October issue (I think...) and then Voices from the West. Both are featured in the January/February 2015 issue. They are scattered throughout the magazines, just a single entry here or there, so be on the look out for them.

Our featured Artisan of this issue is Jesse Brennan and his work is fantastic!

We also added a new feature called "Treasures from the Past", which is a one page feature with a couple of pictures of an interesting original item and a little background information about it. So be sure to look for that. Also be sure to check out the web link mentioned in the article for more in depth information about the item and additional photos of it.
Thank you,
Jason

I'm new to reading your magazine and I must say I am a fan. It's great to read articles like you publish.

One suggestion is to do reviews of some of the production guns or maybe some of the builders guns. I can never get enough of the beautiful guns.

Thank you very much!

I have plans to do some more gun reviews in the future. I am waiting for some of the production companies to come out with new guns as I don't want to write a review of a gun that has already been on the market for several years.

Pedersoli has a new flintlock rifle in the works that if they decide to bring it to market will be pretty neat and I will definitely publish a review of it.

There is a gun review in the January/February 2015 issue. It is of a really cool and unique gun I ran across at Friendship in September.

Let me just add another 2 cents here. There are many new shooters who are new to the game and don't really know what some of the older guns offer. I understand that you might not want to go digging up older models of T/C, CVA, Pedersoli, etc rifles, but I know that I myself would love to read a quick review of such rifles so I can get a better understanding of their makeup and quality. While some seasoned shooters might already know about some or all of these guns, some just getting into the sport/hobby might really benefit from some reviews of these guns. That way they might come to a decision of something that is already on the market or being sold used.

Just saying.

do you think there will be many/any new model traditional ML'ers to review? Pedersoli may be the only company to offer something now and then???

I do. I also don't think it would be limited to Pedersoli, there are some other Italian manufacturers that are working on bringing some of their guns to the US market as well. There are also US companies that produce custom/semi-custom guns that introduce new firearms or kits from time to time.

I don't think we'll be seeing a ton of new production firearms but I do think more will be coming out.

:hmm: Took the words right out of my mouth. I agree 100%

I am a long standing member of NMLRA and I subscribe to Muzzle Loader Magazine. I thoroughly enjoy reading both from cover to cover. They are the best (possibly the only) magazines out there on real muzzleloading.

Great discussion on this thread. After reading all comments I just sent payment for a two year subscription to Muzzleloader Magazine. Looking forward to my first issue.

I agree. Where would this sport be without TC? There is a whole new generation buying used TC's that are still very serviceable and no parts or information available to them.
