I was at Wally World tonight and picked up a set of four plastic funnells for a buck and a quarter. One of them fits my range rod perfectly, and the outside of the long spout part fits my .54cal rifle. If I cut off just the spout I will have a great muzzle protector. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the other three funnells. :hmm:

You could make a powder drop tube, using a small funnel conected to a length of tubing to place the charge directly into the breech...

Is one of the funnels small enough to be use for filling powder horns and flasks?

I use a plastic funnel for dropping powder all the time to prevent spills, and even carry a smaller one in my possibles bag when hunting. I'd like to find the right sized brass one to help make a range drop tube with though.

Dixie Guns Works had them. If I remember right they around $5.00. I made up a drop tube for BPCR with one and 1/4" rigid copper tubing will slip into it and can be soldered (for use with 3F), or 5/16" can be slipped over the end and soldered ( for 1F and 2F).
Hope this helps.

Regards, Dave

you'll find that funnels always have a use sooner or later, so keep them where you can find them and the uses will come to ya
