Hey all,

I went and got my hunting license here in PA a few weeks back and asked for the muzzleloader tag and I supposedly got it.

It's on my long yellow strip of licenses.

However, my friend did not ask for one and he has a muzzleloader tag too, and I checked my license from last year, when I did NOT get one, and noticed the same tag was there too.

What gives???

Bryan,

I'm going from memory here (at work) but I believe the regular Buck tag says "antlered or late muzzleloader tag".

One of the yellow tabs of the license lists the tags applied for "General, Archery, Muzzleloader" etc.

Yep, all the antlered tags have "Antlered or Flintlock" tag written on them.

To be legal to USE the antlered tag in Flintlock season (Which allows you an antlered or antlerless deer in any WMU) you obviously must not have already used it in another season where it's legal to take an antlered deer AND you must have also purchased a separate "Muzzleloader" license.

If you do not have a section on your license that says "Res Additional Privileges" with "Muzzleloader" listed underneath you cannot fill that "Antlered or flintlock" tag with a flintlock in the late season.
