Just like Lyman has a bible on reloading for your ammo, does Muzzleloading have an equivalent?

Just now getting into the sport for hunting and have a CVA Accura Plains 50cal on the way. Want to know how to work up my loads with the varity of powders and bullets out there.

Lyman has made two editions of, "BLACK POWDER HANDBOOK & RELOADING MANUAL" that are for muzzleloading guns.
Both of them are out of print so you'll have to find a used one. The 2nd edition was copyrighted in 2001.

Thanks...
You know, I don't know why I didn't think of checking Lyman to see if they had something from the git go. Lyman had the book for $24 in stock Should get it soon.

There's one out on eBay now but they want $40 for it. o_O

Sam Fadala wrote some BP books that teach you the basic concepts and understandings. I read them many years ago and it helped me when there was no internet to learn from. A little old but the basics are the same.

There are no recent books with information regarding muzzle loading firearms. Fortunately GOEX and Pyrodex still perform about the same and books such as the Lyman Handbooks and the Digest Books on Black Powder Loading Manuals. But by the time the Digest Books reached the 4th edition much of the information included black powder cartridge arms.

We need a new loading manual using Goex, Old Eynesford, Swiss, 777 and Pyrodex.
