Tip #1
When loading a muzzleloader on horseback, place the butt of the gun between your boot and the stirrup.
This will keep your muzzleloader from sliding off during the loading process.
Tip #2
Carry an extra set of leather boot straps with you in the woods, they can be used to replace a lost wedge pin while in the field, just wrap and tie.
Tip #3
A hard sharpening stone can be broken up and used in a flint lock in a pinch, most hard knife sharpening stones will spark.
Tip #4
Do not carry your cleaning jag/ball puller in your parch box while hunting, humans make enough noise on their own without adding to it.
Tip #5
Buy an unbreakable ram rod and use it for hunting only, there's nothing worse than breaking the ram rod while deep in the woods miles away from the local gun shop. Use the wooden one for show or muzzleloading events.
