My Civil War rifles

An E. Robinson contract 1863, a Springfield 1838, a Potsdam M1809 dated 1825, and an Enfield dated 1862. The pistol is a Simion North 1819. All percussion, all missing something. The only thing the Potsdam is missing is the front band spring and the worst of the lot is the Enfield. I plan on conserving them and putting them back into working order if possible. I will have to get a few reproduction parts.

I like the been there done that look. Just a heads up, Enfields produced by the BSAT were all hand assembled and parts are not interchangable. So whatever you are missing, you can probably find original parts, but you will have to hand fit them.

Here in UK, Peter Dyson has a load of original and reproduction parts for the Enfield rifles. Sniders, too.

Yes, I am aware of that. The Enfield lock needs some inletting on the stock. I have a set of fine wood carving chisels and inletting compound for that.
