Good morning my friend, you simply need a couple of handfulls of cornmeal, an egg and some water. Leave the misx to stand for a while to allow the cornmeal to soak. If it looks too runny -add more cornmeal. If it looks too stiff - add more water. Fry it in butter. Cover with maple syrup when done, or you might try molasses. Blueberries are good with it too.

Tried this out over the last week, and I think I've found a new item to add to my list of dependable breakfasts :hatsoff:

looks dern good muley. I have to limit that dish but when cold mornings I still have every so often, this morning (15d F) grits, fryed thick cut beef bologna, one sunny side and multi grain bread toast. almost a diet meal

Good day my friend, I am glad that you enjoyed it. I have picked up some good ideas from the folks who have ben kind enough to contribute to this post. It has been a lot of fun.

Lately we've been going the breakfast burrito route. In butter fry spuds, garlic and onions until golden then add pork chorizo or sausage and chopped jalapenos. Stir in eggs and mix together. Pepper and salt to taste. Warm up some good tortillas, not the crappy vegetable shortening type but the type made from lard. Slap the mixture on the tortilla with some cheese and you got breakfast. Oh yeah don't forget the black coffee.

:hatsoff: Woods Dweller...way too funny!!!! Do you put the chicken in your haversack, or make a leash???

Cornmeal mush with sausages, bacon and some red pepper. The cooking liquid stock/broth-based with mixed, dried vegetables thrown in for more flavor.

I'm not a big fish eater but I am liking it more nowadays and I do really like fresh trout for breakfast when I'm camping out. It just seems to go better in the outdoors.

Bacon, potatoes, eggs, cheese, peppers. Fry the bacon, use the fat to fry the potatoes, replace the bacon , add eggs and peppers when the eggs are cooked cover with cheese and let the cheese melt. Serve on a tortita, use any left over tortita to "clean the grease "out of the skillet, eat tortita! :idunno: :idunno:

'cookie' has some great sounding breakfast meals at the camp breakfast page.
I really like fried 'taters of any sort even 'tater pancakes' w/breakfast.

yeah, I'm a fan of food that used to be cute too. Though, I have been known to throw in a cpl pancakes too... occasionally
