My First Handgonne Build

All this handgonne building has gotten to me so I have put one together. It is not a copy/reproduction of anything. It is a .75 caliber, has a 10" long bore, is 1-3/16" at the breech, is 15/16" at the muzzle and is 14" overall. I proofed it with 100 grains of 2F and 2 .69 caliber balls. I still have to make a tiller for it. I am thinking an ash or oak closet rod should work fine. If anyone has abetter suggestion let me hear it. Maybe I'll get that done tomorrow. Here are a few pics of what I have so far.

Looks great. :hatsoff: I like the idea of a longer gonne. In fact, I've recently been toying with the idea of a 16" gonne from round 1018 stock with a 12" 20ga. bore. :hmm:

The tiller I used for my Gonne was a new post hole handle. Heavy, sturdy and works great.

I used a stick of Teak, and did it octagonal (copied Claypipe style).

I got the tiller built today for the new gonne. The only thing I could find was a piece of pine closet rod. I wanted oak or ash but the longest piece I found was only 36" long. I did get to fire a single shot right at sunset. The load was 45 grains of 2F and a .69 caliber ball with striking paper wadding under and over the ball. It went boom nicely. I hope to fire it some more tomorrow and see if I am able to actually hit a man sized target.
