This is my first kit build, a Traditions Kentucky Pistol. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience for my next kit. The kit overall was good, with only a couple imperfections, a tiny gap between the nose cap and stock, a lot of slop in the trigger, and the trigger guard not fitting. I tried to bend the guard and ended up breaking it at the back woodscrew hole. So I just dry fitted it together with little fuss and started taking off wood where it felt right. I finished the wood with BC's walnut stain and true oil. The barrel was browned with Track's browning, and the brass I used BC's brass black. I'm excited to get to the range and try it out!

I think you will find it to be a good accurate pistol. I shoot a .45 ACP case of 2f (I believe 22-25 grains) and a .495 ball.
