Did you grind it out? or forge it from round stock?
What kind of oil do you use?
I like the hilt. I have to make one of those for a bowie I have laying in front of me. Any suggestions on making it go easier?

Very nice, indeed. I've been making Revolutionary War-era rifleman knives, Civil War-era Bowies and primitive folders ever since I watched 'Last of the Mohicans'. Daniel WInkler's work was my inspiration. How did you select your blade style? It reminds me of a profile KABAR came out with a few years ago.
