I ran across a bag design I liked, in a "how-to" article in one of the Foxfire books - so decided to try my hand.
I sewed it inside-out, of course, doing the decorative flap stitching before the assembly sewing.
I copied the lines of the Ruger logo, substituting my first name initial for Ruger's "R".
(The belt knife is also handmade)
Inside, and before I stitched it together, I made two pockets that lie against the back wall of the bag inside the main compartment, and also made a full-width pocket across the outside of the front face of the main compartment to give the bag a new face.
A fourth pocket, on the strap that normally falls across my chest ( I carry the bag on my left) is for a folding patch knife - and I boughten the buckles at Tandy's.
