My mentor, Geoff just sent me these pics of his latest work. It's in the lehigh style with a piece of highly figured maple, Rice barrel,Chambers lock..
This is just a beautiful rifle.. enjoy. Maybe you all can get him to show the rest of it.
These pics, don't do it justice

If the pics don't do it justice I ain't sure I could stand to look at in person! :rotf: Absolutely fantastic. I might not be able to do that kinda work but sure now how to appreciate it though!!

"schimmelsmith..... is that your's???"
it is..
It was a real pleasure to hold this rifle.
there is more carving on the bottom of it and the wood is just stunning in person
Now if he would just learn to engrave.
I can be a bad apprentice as long as he doesn't find out

Whoaaaaa..................NICE! I love these style rifles, especially with the wooden patchbox .

Very nice! Now....if the lock and patch box were only reversed......for us lefties.

Unusual that your builder followed the way many
of the Allentown etc smiths didn't bring the
stock to the center of the barrel flats..Few can
recognize this small detail..I did mine that way
and nobody ever noticed it..Good for him..
