I'll tell ya, when that Lenn gets started on a project it doesn't gather any dust waiting to be finished! Nice job...

Good Lord! You can say that again! :shocked2:  Looks really nice, Pitchy. :hatsoff:

Thanks guys :hatsoff: it looks better in person, i`m real happy with the way it turned out.

Now, Pitchy,
I see that it is hexagon rather than octagon. Did you make it that way or did your metal stock come that way? If you made it that way, is it because the bigger flats gave you more room for the 'pan'?

Was what i had laying around, but the wide flats did work out nice for pan room.
Thanks buddy.

What a cool project, I have the fixin's to make Gonnes, but never had the gumption.

The serpentine (is that the correct term?)on the Gonne makes it all seem like a reasonable venture.

How did you anchor the tiller?

The tiller fits tight in the three inch long tubing then the cross bolt for the lever holds it in place.
Thanks.

Thanks Andy, Teleoceras get the credit for posting a picture of his gonne with the lever that i copied.

Absolutley awesome!!! I started my Gonne project also with an old 50 caliber barrel. Got my vent hole drilled and ready, barrel is ready to mount too the tiller, but was wanting to do the same firing mechanism as you got but wasn't for sure how (Saw it in an old drawing I have.) This will be my first project and I was wanting to ask a ton of questions, (since this is my first project may I ask you a ton of questions?). I should have mine completed by the middle of January. I will post pictures also. This site is wonderful as well as the information.

wow very nice, how did u breach this gonne, or is it a solid piece drilled out to have a bore and touch hole?

what kinda loads does these gonnes shoot?
:hatsoff: :hatsoff:

Looks fun, now how about one with a 6 foot staff and percusion ignition? heck of a walking stick don't you think. Just another project idea. Protection against wolfs and dogs in this frozen wasteland.

Thanks bioprof, not sure but i`d think it would be but aiming could be a problem.

Willisburg looking forward to seeing your gonne, if i can help in anyway ask away.

mckutzy, the barrel is an eight inch solid shaft drilled six inch for bore.

WWG, i`m thinking about a long bayonet on the other end for more protection.

Thanks all.
