I finished this pair yesterday for a fellow member of the United Bowhunters of Missouri who won them at our annual Festival auction this past February. I thought I would have finished them sooner but turkey season came along and my lead time went to hell. Anyway...they will go in the mail today and hopefully they will fit well and she will like them.

This pair is made from 8 oz buffalo leather and trimmed in deer. The "artwork" is Honduran caiman leather and ostrich. The heel and toe caps are caiman leather too. I caught the caimans on a cane pole baited with hotdogs. I beat them to death with a stick and skinned them with my bare teeth.

Last I heard, he got the ostrich in Texas, during the turkey season...

That is a dang lie! I found that ostrich dead on the side of the highway in downtown Memphis, TN. Must have escaped from Graceland or something. I tanned the hide to make purties out of and used the feathers to fletch some arrows.

Caimans are not particular about what brand of hotdog you use for bait. Like wild trout, though, they are particular about your bait presentation.
