My Little girl at the 4-H Nationals

It's to bad most people will never see this large of group of young people having so much fun. The day starts with the Pledge of Allegiance and everyone has they're hand on they're heart and is fully involved. The opening ceremony was even better, when everyone who has served this great country was asked to stand,the auditorium went died silent. When all are service men and women were standing the kids and the crowd erupted with cheers that are seldom heard. As for my girl, she was about in the middle of the pack. Competition at this level is anyone's game. 4-H has made it possible for her to compete at this level if she does her part. If you have time please read the link below. Great article to share. As a 4-H alumni, former leader and parent of a county 4-H coordinator for Michigan Extension, I had to share it with my daughter. Oh BTW I grew up about 50 miles from Grand Island.

4H was big in my family as well. As kids we were all involved and my mom retired as the office manager for the Hardin County Extension Office.

Certainly a great organization.

It's nice to hear some young people enjoying this sport rather than sitting inside playing video games. My grandson has been learning in the scouts. Don't know what to call it because now girls are in the boy scout and girl scouts. Nothing against girls but I don't see too many boys joining the girl scouts.

Moving on, you have every reason to feel proud of the young lady. Our local (back home) 4H does a wonderful job of teaching youth to shoot everything from BB guns to muzzleloaders.
