So a local guy was selling this gun. He was asking $300. Had no takers, I got it for $150. It looks like its practically un-fired. I think its better for me because now my pistol and rifle shoot the same balls. Cant wait to shoot her. Let me know what you think. Thanks. -Rob

Good little work horses, those Renegades. It can either be a good entry level rifle, or the one you use for rest of your life. Good deal you got on it also. Bill

got my Renegade when i still had most of my hair (i.e. right after the earth cooled) it's a flint .50 and it's served me very well for a great many years.

You're gonna have a great time with yours (by the way- nice 'horse tradin' on the price).

Make good smoke!

Looks like she's in great shape! Those renegades are dependable, durable, good-shootin' rifles, both with roundballs and Maxi-balls. Give us a range update when you can

Thanks guys. I got to shoot her Sunday. Definitely love at first pull lol. She liked 60 gr of ff. I was touching bullets on the last3 shots at 100 yards. I want to try a 18 patch in her too and see how she does with that.

My first muzzleloading rifle was a Renegade .50. Sadly, I left the thing uncleaned for a long time and ruined the bore. Luckily, I was able to have it rebored to .58 cal and now I have my old gun back in the stable. I've always enjoyed the Renegade model. Just a good solid hunter and shooter. Like has been said, it may be entry level for you or it may be the one that you use from now on. It can sure handle pretty much whatever you need done.
