I posted a few targets from the range last week and here is the rifle that they came from. This is a used 45 caliber 42 inch Green Mountain barrel with a large Siler lock, brass du-dads and a curly maple stock. I hope to get out the range tomorrow, it has been pouring today, so I have been rubbing the flinters down getting them ready to go to work. Oh yea, I bought the little brother (1807 Harpers Ferry) this morning-- I, I, I, have the desease, thanks alot guys.

And here is one of those mentioned targets--25 yards and freehand- I was a virgin with a flintlock until I shot this group. Forgive me for taking so long seeing the light-- ah- I mean sparks.

Nice looking guns, looks like you were in the right place at the right time, the .45 is a nice gun to shoot and hunt deer with, ya did good

Many thanks, I don't hunt now days but I left the option on the table in case I get back into it. I have a CVA 58 cal. Mountain rifle that I took a few deer with back in the 90's but I stopped hunting when I was almost shot twice in one season (shotgun-slug) one of the times was on my own land. I felt that it was the final straw and decided that the 4 am trips to the woods and the sitting in the freezing weather was taking time from my passion of target shooting anyway. I might get back into it in the future because I do miss the wildlife and fresh air of the woods. I just need to find some land now that I moved here to GA.

ayup... he's hooked for sure ... another one turned to the dark side.

welcome to the addiction.
