I recently grabbed one of my magnets and applied a piece of black electrical tape to do the seal. The magnet sealed the touch hole of my rifle. No water leaks as I let the soapy water work on the fouling at the breech. Much better than the toothpick I used in the past.
I did the same thing with my new Kibler today. This is the neatest trick I seen in awhile. Thanks Davec2 for posting it. I keep the stack of magnets stuck to the wall on a sheetrock screw. When it came time to dry patch the water out of the barrel I stuck a few layers of paper towel between the vent and the magnets.

davec2,
I jumped on this when you first posted. Have been using electrical tape as the seal for the magnet which doesn’t seem to work all of the time. What are you using?
Thank you
Mine came through with adhesive gasket material in place and 3 spare precut pieces. 20210829_083825.jpg

Dwight,
I have been out of the shop for a few days but will send you a piece of the gasket material I use tomorrow morning. I have your mailing address from your PM. As I mentioned, the gasket material cannot be too thick or it reduces the pull of the magnet to the barrel steel, but it has to be thick enough and soft enough to form a good seal with just the force of the magnet providing compression.

Dwight,

I just dropped a piece of the gasket material in the mail to you. Should be there in a couple of days.

Best,

Dave C
