I have a large batch of balls I cast from pot metal and several pounds of Elephant powder. No real cost involved. Might as well use them up practicing.

Yup. Any shooting is better than no shooting. That's why I want to know as much as I can about as many propellants as I can. I don't want to be sidelined for any reason, whether health or lack of my preferred powder. And lack-o-powder is certainly a factor when you get out near the end of distribution and shipping options.

I too like Graf's 3f. There's a shop in Springfield, MO - Cherokee Firearms, that carries all sizes of it. Price is $20 per pound + sales tax.

Springfield is a 1.5 hour drive from the House but we get up there every so often to visit Sam's Club.

We're a bit out in the sticks. Nearest Walmart is a 50 min drive from the house.
