i did indeed mean powder horn and it is a horn i wanted to make that would have been carried by british soldier in the 23rd royal welsh fusiliers
with the grenedier motto and royal welsh cartouche
(the house is my house i designed and had built)

horner
i need apply shadow on the ship as you have done on your navy based horn that is gorgous ?

used the dremel for awhile but its over the top and defintly need a very lite touch using it .
i question weather it looked better without the shading as just a simpler look

I think it looks good with the shading. However I would stay way from using a dremel. The dremel causes a "splotchy" kinda look in scrimshaw, where the lines sometimes don't connect correctly..HOWEVER your scrimshaw looks pretty good from where I sit, you done a good job with it. As long as it pleases you.. that's all that matters.
My tools of scrimming are a sharp leather punch and an exacto knife. I've been scrimming for a short while... so take my 2 cents for what it's worth..
