I have a Jack Garner .62/20 smooth bore gun with a rear sight. I've only shot it with prb's, haven't tried it as a shotgun yet. I like it a lot. Good sight picture, good weight. I know not much about Garner except he is an excellent gun builder.
What kind of accuracy do you get with it when shooting from a rest?

It's a flintlock, I'm trying to learn to shoot flinters. Not coming easy for me and I think so far I have a built in flinch. It'll be awhile before group shooting is going to take place. Now I shoot at rocks and other objects. Sometimes coming close, sometimes not so close. It's an enjoyable learning experience so far.

Please spend some time shooting off the bench, with proper bench techniques. This will give you a better idea of p.o.a/p.o.i. and you should be able to start getting groups, this confirming the former. Also, you will be able to work on focusing on the front sight and trigger squeeze with even being able to anticipate the shot. This can translate to not doing so later when you shoot offhand, standing, kneeling, and sitting. A whole bunch of dry fire practice will help with this as well.

Be careful what you practice, you may get good at the wrong thing.

Looks to me to be in the Corinth school as Ive always heard it called. Corinth Mississippi that is. Jack Garner is the grand man of this school. He called it TVM an ran it out of his basement an had 7 or 8 employees or at least thats how many I remember being there when I went up too have a look see back in the 80s. He had lots of pupils such as Matt who owns TVM now an also Mike Davis an Jackie Brown started there IIRC. He built very solid affordable dependable flintlocks.
