Today I finished up the buttplate, removed wood off the lock panel and side panel, defined the lock panel and started removing wood from the lock panel to the end of the stock. There is a pretty decent amount of wood to remove on the stock but I think that is a good thing.

I’ve been thinking about the nose cap, I will be pouring it which I’ve never done before. I don’t have any pewter on hand. As a bullet caster I do have literally a ton of lead. Part of the stash is solder of all types. Does anyone here have experience pouring a nose cap with 60/40 solder?
