Some of you guys wanted to see pics of my Hawken after I added antiqued brass tacks to it.

Guess it didn't come out too bad for my 1st try.

Didn't want to go overboard.

Put 40 balls through it yester day at the range...loads of fun...just did the stock today.

Haven't done the other side yet..probably finish tomorrow. :applause:

Thanks...I finished the other side an hour ago and got him put back together...couldn't let it sit unfinished!

That looks great! Been thinking about that myself but I am afraid I couldn't make them as straight and nice as yours!

Don't know...was like that...gonna try some "Brass black" to get the brass to match the tacks.

I like the fact that you used different diameter tacks on the wrist of the gun, it really looks sharp.

Great job Joe! Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
Dusty

:v Hey that's a nice gun---the pictures of the stock & tacks didn't really ring the bell, as it were. But with the whole nine yards it really ends up a great looking gun, you should be proud of. I like your idea of minimalizing the brassy look with the brass black and a bit of rubbing. IMHO a gun with lots of shining brass is overdone---besides I wouldn't have wanted that flasher in the woods yea many years ago---could have lost your scalp-n'est ce pas?

I love it. I think it looks great, but can we get a full picture of it now after all the antiquing?
Thanks.
