I'm selling a Navy Arm's pistol made in the 1960s. The catalog calls it the "Reb", made in Italy by Pietta, in .44 cal. Showing it's age a bit but still a good pistol. Based on the Griswald & Grier .44
$225 plus $18 shipping. Thanks!!

It was on my desk when I took the pics, it's back in the frame now. It seems to function well, hammer and nipple align, the cylinder revolves free and clear. It's been in a chest in my room, I've never fired it.

No scrolling on the cylinder: check!
A round barreled (!) Navy: check!
Brass frame: check!

Very authentic Confederate copy, looks like to me!

I'm no gunsmith but it functions great, the lineup is right on when rotating the cylinder, the hammer sets down perfectly. No play or wiggle.

Might look good in your collection.

I’d be all over it if I didn’t own one. EMF ran a sale a few years back and I snatched up one to pair with a Spiller and Burr.

Not if it’s in 44 caliber.
OP is it 44 or 36?
I also have Piettas fantasy 1851 brass frame in 44 caliber.

I have one (0.44 with a shorter barrel (sold as a post war 'sheriff's' model)). It's great to shoot but go easy on the powder charge. I was young and dumb when I first got it and put in as much powder as I could fit because, "Hey it's more fun that way". Well the brass frame has taken a beating and the timing and fit are not what it once was. I'm not saying that it's a bad pistol, on the contrary, I'm just saying go easy/sane on the powder charge if you are going to shoot it.

wow! wiki speak!
True enough but to the greater majority of non gun owners a hand gun is still a pistol regardless of where the cartridge or (powder charge and ball)! is contained at the moment it is fired. The name pistol comes from the French word pistolet, which means small gun or knife. (More wiki) speak.
But I agree a revolver is not a pistol but a hand gun.
Sort ranks up there with the non gun peoples who use the term “clip” interchangeable with magazine. 😁
