My father just dropped off about nine square feet of chrome-tanned leather that has been sitting in his closet for about 25 years. So now I need a project.

This is soft leather with that buckskin colour (almost orange). Other than a cow's knee, I'm at a loss for a project that doesn't require twice as much material (like a gun case).

This will probably keep me up tonight. :shake:

Do you have a possibles bag? What about a fire starting kit pouch? Check out Track of the Wolf, and the other stores in their "personal gear" sections. They may give you a lot of ideas. I want to make a small wallet type pouch to hold all the tiny ramrod pieces we need to carry for these guns. :hmm:

A wallet for flints, ramrod tips, and miscellaneous bits was my first project... No, that's wrong. It was my third project. My first was flint leathers. Second was a bag for lead balls.

A possible bags is a possibility. (Apologies.) I've got one, but I'm not happy with it. It has an accordion style gusset which makes it want to flatten, and stuff sinks down into either of the "valleys" formed by the gusset. Hmmmm... Maybe I'll just replace that gusset with something simpler.

I'll peruse Track and see if I can come up with any more ideas. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have been making tomahawk carriages, flint wallets, knife sheaths, hammer stalls and flint leathers lately. I am sure that you will come up with something. I would only use suede for flint leathers.
