Ok, a turnscrew if necessary. I just picked up a Pedersoli Kentucky pistol (brass bbl) made in 1972. It's been a display for years and I need to take it apart to clean up the innards. But, all the screws are the narrow, shallow slot seen on some European guns and I can't find a screwdriver that will fit - anything else is going to tear them up. Suggestions please.

Either buy gunmaker screwdrivers or file/grind a screwdriver to fit the slot.

What Black Hand said! A set of gunsmith screwdrivers are readily obtainable by all gun owners ever since Al Gore invented the internet!

Well I knew that but I thought those really shallow screw slots took something special.

Brownells sells an excellent set. But if you only need one, I'd grind an old screwdriver to fit.

Buy a screw driver w/ a suitable tip width and slowly hollow grind it on a 6-8" dia grinding wheel.....most bench grinders.

Don't press too hard and dip in cold water often.

I dress the wheel first for an even grind.....Fred

You might try PB tools - Swiss screwdrivers, expensive but brilliant. All different sizes of parallel bladed screwdrivers. All available mail order from a US distributor.
