I got word back from Traditions about my stock joining pins being predrilled at a slight angle, they said I should redowel and go from there. I am thinking about just drilling bigger holes on the butt stock side and using jb weld or something like it (advice given here) By using dowels, I could end up with slight angles again. What would you guys do? Either way I do it, I will still be able to detach the stocks because one side will not be have glue etc. At this point, I need to get the stocks together and start to finish YAY! I plan on bluing the barrel asap and am slowly getting there. My nose cap piece is being a booger, one side is higher than the other, I rounded off the end of the stock, but there is still a slight gap. I plan on fitting the barrel and possibly having one screw looser than the low side screw. Anyways, thanks in advance!!

I would dowel and re drill the holes using the brass plate as a template. Actually if Traditions drilled the holes they should make it right. I would send the stock back and tell them to dowel and re-drill or give you a credit for your trouble. You bought the kit in good faith and there is no excuse for shoddy(keepin it clean)work.

JB weld is a good adhesive, but I wouldn't use it on a gun. IMHO,there are much better adhesives for gun work.

IMHO, Rogue River has the right idea. Glue in a coupla dowels, using acraglass, and redrill those holes. IMHO, acraglass is formulated for gun work, so it is the best product for this application.

I'd go with the JB or an epoxy like dev con. Once you glue the dowels in and redrill you still might be off. :(

Variation in the hardness of the dowell as opposed to the stock wood could have you drilling cockeyed.

Send it back if they will let you, but if it were me, I'd fix it and be shooting while they are still shipping!
