To my chagrin, I've learned that my erstwhile NSW trade gun wasn't actually made by them or their predecessor, North Star, or by Davide Pedersoli & C for that matter. The only identifying marks on the 36" bbl. are, reading from muzzle -> breech (lower left flat), .62 cal. GRF: No serial no., no marks in the bbl. channel or anywhere else. While the lock plate has a Circle Fox stamping (right side) and a serpent sideplate on the left, it also says Made In Italy on an inside surface. Btw, the buttplate is a clone of the 1815 Barnett pictured in the TOW catalog. Lastly, the 1st "wedding band" is 12 1/8" from the breech plug, while the 2nd is 15 1/8" from it. Can anyone help me determine who actually made the gun, which was represented to me as a NSW product?
