I was given an old round ball 45 cal. muzzleloader, markings on the barrel read MFG. FOR ULTR-HIGH BY MIROKU JAPAN 30569.
Any help identifing it would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has an idea of what it is worth would also help.

I have one. I can't identify it any more than what's stamped on the barrel. My wife bought it for me as a christmas present. She paid $49 for it. This was nearly 35 years ago. It's been a good pistol. I've shot alot of snowshoe hare and one whitetail buck. I can't think that it's value is too great being it's made in japan. I hope someone has some info on it .I'm interested too.

You both really need to put pics up so someone can see what ya got. MIROKU JAPAN is well known by older shooters here. FRED :hatsoff:

were they not the company that made the bbls for dixie`s tenn. rifle and some of the browning shotguns?

Yes they make the Browning Citori O/U shotguns, along with the Browning BL-22, BLR, & a number of other models. In fact in Australia, & maybe other contries, all of the above firearms were sold under the Miroku label (ML-22, MLR, etc.). I'm pretty sure they even make the modern Winchester Models 1886, 1892, 1895, M.71, etc.

And the Brown Bess muskets made by them for Dixie and probably others as well are highly prized by shooters; some people feel that they're better quality than Pedersolis.

correct, they make all the top=dollar Browning and Winchetser guns.
although since winchester just went belly-up i'm not sure if they still make them.

I bought a 45 kentucky rifle in 82 for 75.00 and it had the 2-peice stock, was a good shooter, I gave it to my brother and he killed a deer with it. I think he still has it. My buddy had one just like it and he shot deer with his. They are like the CVA kentucky rifles. Dilly

Hope that all helps and I do belive they did make some of the better barrels for Dixie, like the Tenn Rifle long way back also. Fred :hatsoff:

Eph289

Take a picture of it. I'll be over in a bit to put it up on my web space.
