Hoping to find some knowledge of what I have since I'm leaving terribly. Inheritance seen this rifle make it's way to me and I can't figure out anything about it. No makers mark that I can find. The papers in the stock are to the point of disintegration. Any one have a clue? Don't really need the thing, no one in my family knows anything about it either, so I'm wanting to see it go to the right person. But don't wanna just give it away either. And heck, if it's something special I'd probably wanna keep it. Any insight is very welcome. Thank you in advance

I think you have a nice contemporary build although the carved (or cast) lock plate mystifies me. I would value it at around $1200 if the inside of the barrel isn't rusted out. It says on the modern inserted paper that it is a .45 cal rifle.

This rifle is not a collector's item, just a nice modern made everyday rifle for someone to shoot and enjoy.

Thank you for your response sir. By contemporary does that mean it's not an original? As in a modern kit rifle?

Very nice looking rifle IMHO. I'm interested in how it performs on the range at at least 50 or maybe 100 yards.
