Need help identifying

Trying to help a family member identify and find a value to this gun. I don't know where else to turn. This is marked J. Henry & Sons. It is 39 7/8" long, it has a 15" Octogon barrel leading from stock and a 9 3/4" Round barrel attached to that. That seems unusual to me. The closest thing I can find is a J. Henry & Sons Half Stock Plains Riffle. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you kindly.

Now this could be a Native American owned and used piece, or it could be a modern put together, to look like a native used piece. Looks like a trade gun barrel mounted on a rifle half stock. Looking at the feathers and beadwork, I’d go for a modern put together of original parts

An octogon to round barrel seems out of place. Id also say it was assembled from what was at hand. That’s not saying it lessens its value. If it indeed dates to mid 19th century, I’d think it would be pretty collectible.

I kinda agree with poker. If it is from the mid-1800s that changes everything including the value.

In the last picture of the lock does it say J Henry Bolton? If so it was made in PA.

try a magnet on the tacks. old tacks should be all brass. [?] feathers look too good to be 150 years old. leather also. though i could be wrong. just ask my wife

I figured the leather and feathers were not original. Lol. But the gun itself, except the round barrel on end got me stumped. Just trying to find someone who can tell me if it's worth something? Will check the magnet. Thanks for the tip

Also check the feathers. Eagles and their parts are protected. If real the whole piece could be confiscated and you fined and or jailed. I know from experience.

I recall "The great Friendship feather bust' dawn swoop on feathers ect not that I ever did the feather thing but bought bear sculls and varius peltry for the UK Indian reenactors I should say N/A devotees who did pay due homage to the portrayal's .

Looks modern to me made to look old
