It is what we here call a wall-hanger, made of die-cast or 'pot-metal, sold purely for decorative purposes. It is as akin to the real thing as Donald Duck is to an real-live eagle. Any attempts to make it into a live-firer will meet with certain disaster for the person holding it, even supposing that you could find a lock to make it function. The 'lock' on it, with its metal flint, could never be made to do anything except to go 'clunk'. If that.

This here is a real flintlock pistol of era -

Put it for sale on GB as a genuine original carried by Blackbeard the pirate
Along with a photograph of him actually holding it.
Might be able to get a photograph of Captain Jack Sparrow or Captain Morgan holding it....
In my opinion neither an antique or reproduction, but rather a tourist trade ‘decorative’ item, likely from the Khyber Pass region. Research Khyber Pass guns.

Hi Flintlock

Sorry to say, the above posts are correct. It's simply made for decorative display. These have been made in various different quality for about the last 50 years as tourist items. They are still being made in various Middle Eastern countries for the same purpose. Many of the older copies came from Spain copying European pistols. Here is a pic of one of the better ones. While it might look authentic to the untrained eye from a distance, it's still a Tourist item.

Not unless the Khyber Pass has moved to Spain, Sir. Our local less-than-posh furniture store has as wall covered with various styles of long arms and pistols. The miquelet blunderbuss is particularly loathsome.
