Need help on my Traditions Kentucky rifle build

I'm having some issues with how the trigger assemble and trigger guard are suppose fit in their inlets. I have pictures if someone can help so PM me. By the way MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all

I have ’built’ two of them under the CVA brand, though it was a long time ago. The inlets were all pre-cut, just needed general sanding and filling. What is the specific trouble?

Working on one of those myself. Had to deepen the rear of trigger inlet on mine and slightly widen and lengthen trigger guard inlet. There's alot to watch for. Good luck

Thanks for your input. I've needed someone to actually say that the trigger inlet did need to be deepened. Now I can move forward. Did you also have to remove the wood between the trigger and guard inlets?

No, you don’t remove the wood between. File the rough edges of the brass a bit first. The trigger guard often is warped and is difficult to get into the stock. Try the fit in the front then remove it and try the rear half, each end will fit but both won’t line up meaning it’s warped. Get one end in then wrestle the other end in. These kits can be a bear to build for a beginner.

Thanks Phil, I for one have to work a few minutes and then stop and think things thru to find the best way forward.

I have had to lengthen the slot for the guard a little. I wouldn't try bending the casting to fit as it can easily break.
