I was lucky and became this beautyful Flintlock Pistol Smoothbore 15mm. Can anyone tell me how old this Gun is an from where they came?! Hope you can helpthank you

Getting a German vibe here.

The side plate depicting a farm house and a woman and a guy with something carried over his shoulder on the trigger guard smells German.

I'm not sure that it is as old as some here think. There is a distinct casting line on the ****. That piece would of been forged originally. The **** may be a replacement and the rest of the gun is original and old. It is a really cool piece.

edit- And the side plate looks like the 'engraving' is cast into the plate.

FIW, before I'd even consider buying it, I would want to see and barrel markings - hidden under the wood or in plain sight.

I DON'T know, but a couple of things stand out to me. Hopefully some real experts will chime in. The cast engraved side plate and the casting line on the **** stand out like sore thumbs to ME.

Lots of modern reproductions out there. Add a few years of rust and neglect and they become "antiques".

600€ is not a lot for an original, so it is probably a reproduction or in some way damaged.

Nice piece & judging by photos it's Germanic & is from the 1700s.
As other forum members state a look for markings inside of the lock & under the barrel
may reveal more information.

Hello Friends, today the pistol came with dhl! Its aesome nice light hand the stock ist butleood and on the barrel stsnds H S Pretzburg 1778. the barrel was clean light rusty shade inside. Who knows this maker is it german?
