was thinking of restoring this pistol. after taking it apart I realized it maybe older then I thought. do any of these markings tell anything of who made it or year it was made?.

Thanks for your pics - I'll be frank and say that right now it looks like a put-together combination old and new parts. The stock is very crude compared with ANY English-made gun purporting to be of the flintlock era, nor does it actually look to be English in shape or style, although Mr D Person might tell me I'm wrong. The screws I discounted instantly, but as for the punch-marks in the breech plug - their significance totally escapes me. I've never seen anything like that before.

thanks for your reply. I'm inclined to think the same about put together. I knew that 2 of screws were newer then the others. with that said I'll try to make it look good and hang it some where.

after all of the years of shooting they are still visible, remarkable?

yes and still in good shape. can say that it had been used a fare amount. the inspection endoscope I use for all my BP guns is the best thing I got for these guns. didn't buy it for that reason but realize it would work and see how truly clean I got it from top to bottom.
