I need a mainspring for my Model 1836 (dated 1844) AH Waters Flint Pistol.

Or any direction, where to find or have one made.
V shape with a screw hole at top.

Thank You
Phil

PB,
Do you have the original spring? If you do, you could look at the on line catalog for Dixie Gun Works. They may not have the exact spring, but one that would work with some tweeking. As far as makin one, there should be someone in your area. Contact some of the local muzzleloading clubs, and riflesmiths. Hope you have the original spring as it will make it easier.

Thank You Larry & VA
Tried calling Rifle Shoppe to day & only got Machine, I will try again tomorrow.
Thank You

Glad to do it. They can be very hard to get hold of, I've always found it best to call before lunch their time. If they have it in stock you should be able to get the part quickly, if it is not in stock it may take a while. Good luck on the project. :hatsoff:

Correct part number from Dixie is TS0907, $19.50. With a little Dremmel, file & polish it works like a dream. For the archives,I will post again on longevity.
Thank You
Phil In FT Myers, FL
