Need more info on muzzleloader

I am looking for more information on a old handmade muzzleloader with the name Jacob S. Palmer on it. I know it is not much to go on, but any info or advice that you can give would be appreciated. I am not sure if Jacob was the builder or just a past owner. I will try to get more info as it is needed, but thought I'd throw a line out and see who bites. Thank you for any help you can give.

If the name is on metal, it's likely the builder. If its on wood, could be a previous owner.

Most builders would sign the barrel top flat , a owners name would be on a silver or brass pc inlayed into the stock, or the patch box would be engraved w/owners name. If you can post some pics of this we would enjoy viewing it
