Hi all,
Picked up a NIB Investarms (Italy) made Hawken rifle in 50 cal originally sold by Cabelas and want to get a plainer rear sight, something like a buckhorn, to replace that rather modern looking one it comes with. Anybody know where I could find one?

The Hawken shop also offers a replacement rear sight for the investarms and t/c style rifles. If I remember correctly you have to drill the holes in the base to match your holes in your barrels. If you replace the rear sight I would highly recommend replacing your front sight with a blade style. I have an investarms/cabelas in a .50cal that I plan on changing the sights out in. I am going to cut a dovetail in the barrel and install 2 screws in the holes and cut off and refinish the barrel to a browning. Just did that on a green mountain drop in barrel for a t/c hawken. Looks good IMO.

Hi all,
Thanks for the info! I went with the Gun works sight. (I'm just not tool inclined and drilling holes and cutting a dovetail is definitely not one of my skills!)

I just picked up an Investarms Hawken carbine, and it 's rear sight has a broken roll pin. Does anyone know the size of it?

In the city of J-ville there ought to be a big old fashioned hardware store with a selection of SAE and metric roll pins. Take the sight in to the store and check. Heck even my little rural Ace Hardware has them.

I just came from the local ACE Hardware. They have roll pins, but nothing as small as this one. They don't have any compression springs this small either. The wonderful PO used a spring from a ball point pen - not nearly strong enough. I'll try to get to the local gunsmith - they are a bit of a drive, but should be able to fix it.
