Hi everyone,
I am a bit confused and just need a bit of guidance. The Pietta Remington pocket pistol states that is a .31 caliber and the instructions say to use a lead ball with a diameter of .322. But online I have read that the gun should take a lead ball with a diameter of .315 or .310.
Just not sure if there will be a big difference between these?
Thanks!

I have a brass framed one and shot a real coffee can with it at 10 feet. bullit went in oneside and spun round and round on the inside. You could here it spinning-ziinnnnggg. It originally was my sons who made a shoulder holster for it. He needed some cash I wanted the gun we made a deal. I use it under my sack coat in civil war reenacting and wear it as a shoulder holster. I also made a hide-away in a fake book for it.

Mine got stolen so I have to go by what Dixie Gunworks says.

They say the Remington Pocket has .315 diameter chambers.
If it does, a .310 or .315 ball would be loose when it's loaded into the chambers. Probably best to stick to something larger unless the smaller balls shear lead off when they are loaded.

Thanks folks, I will try the .315 first and see how it goes. I read on line that someone used some buckshot in theirs. Is that even safe?

I would measure the chambers and go 0.004" to 0.005" over that dimension for the ball  .

I use #0 pure lead buckshot (.320 dia.) in my CVA pocket pistol made by ASM and it has worked just fine.

Order up some Rush Creek .319 and .323 balls from Track of the Wolf. See which loads best and shoots best and then your set. Buckshot will work fine too.

According to Mr. Pietta, their groove diameter is .32677, lands are .31102 and chambers .31496.
