Welcome to the forum
If you can post a photo,it would be helpful.

After a little search i believe the gents name on the flintlock is - Douglas Anderson from Kalispell MT

I purchased a early Virgina style rifle from Doug Anderson in about 1983. His rifles were of high quailty. A friend of mine had one of his early English trade guns and a Lancastor style rifle.
I know he was in Montana at that time. I do not know where he is now or if he still building guns.

old ford, thx for your comments how about some pics? do you have any other info on doug ?

Doug was a friend of mine many years ago. We rode Harleys together and traded work now and again. He went by the moniker 'White Eyes' and worked in Merical's shop making very nice rifles. Just what did you want to know about him? I'm not willing to give out much personal information about him and I believe that his work speaks volumes for him. He was very much into racing and spoke about following his dream.

I'd like to have contact information for Doug Anderson so I can ask him:

--if he made more Wayfaring rifles

--for advice on what I ought to do with this Number one in the series; my husband is dead and giving the rifle to his son is not an option; he hocked all the other antique and family guns he inherited. I've given away our lodge though I have kept my own accountrements and rifle.

I'd like the Wayfaring rifle to be in the hands of someone who will appreciate it.

I understand your reticence to hand out personal information. You might contact him, tell him this, and he might send me a message-- if he chooses to-- through this forum. I won't be checking daily, but will check in once in awhile.

All I need is his middle initial if he's in Kalispell, MT. I've already found the addresses of 5 men named Douglas Anderson there. If you'd prefer not to give it, I'll just write letters to all five of them.
