I don't blame the employees. They are usually a good bunch of people. There is always a few bad ones no matter where you go. I blame the person or persons in charge for screwing stuff up so bad. Playing games or just being stupid to get more funding but they are screwing with peoples lives. Some really depend on the mail for certain items. It could actually mean life or death for them.

If you put a shark in an aquarium, you end up with a fat shark and an empty aquarium.

Our PM allowed only certain party types to openly campaign right in front of the PO. When i confronted her she basically denied it was a misuse of federal property.

Usps it's government run what do you expect. Our mail goes from wherever it's being sent from to Beaumont texas where I live then gets sent to Houston Texas 90 miles away then sent back to Beaumont to be delivered. Government efficiency.

Ordered some shoes a week ago yesterday, shipped monday, at my house on thursday as stated by the sender. It does work sometimes, even most of the time. This wasn't a next door delivery but across the country.

They didn't try to destroy the postoffice they tried to stop the billions of dollars lost each year. Stop listening to propagandists and reaearch.

Take your own advice.

Prior to the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA) enacted by the 109th United States Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 20, 2006. the post office was the only government entity that made a profit. Since then, it's been in the hole.

In 2005 the post office had no debt. It's debt has risen ever since.

I can't criticize them too much. I've seen people - plural, as in multiple individuals over multiple trips - wheeling literal wheel-barrows full of packages into our local USPS office to ship.

Yes, I have a couple things taking a long time to make their destination. When demand outstrips capability by this much, it's no surprise.
Their job is to ship our items, that is what we pay them for. They have gotten used to whining and slacking off and now using the virus as an excuse. My sister in law worked at a large postal center in Kansas City and said that as soon as everyone clocked in , 90% of them grabbed papers and started looking at yard sales etc. In a few minutes half of em left to yard sale all day and the other half more or less worked. She said they were so lazy and "entitled" that she could not stand it.

Wow can't believe all this ... Wounder how anyone survived when they had to go pick up their things at the store by them selves... I would say Amazon and the fact that they send everything using the USPS , because nobody else will deliver packages, is the reason for the delays ... The 400 billion packages shipped the last 3 weeks probably played a roll in the issues the post office had

I would say Amazon and the fact that they send everything using the USPS ,

That's not a fact. Only some packages in some markets utilizes USPS. Amazon also uses UPS for deliveries and third party merchants may use Fedex. Amazon is now shipping 67 percent of its own packages directly to customers bypassing all three, according to data from supply chain consultant MWPVL International. That's up from 50 percent in 2019.

Only late mail that concerns me is my better half's meds. That could be life and death. Otherwise it is mostly just toys and playthings. I am old enough to remember waiting 3-8 weeks as STANDAARD waiting time. Been waiting a month for a Kershaw Leek. Waited 3 1/2 weeks for cleaning rod thread adapters for my muzzleloader tips. Not a big deal.

[/QUOT don't know where you live ... But I drive truck and have hauled amazon packages ... I know where I took them and my wife is a rural carrier for the post office and I know what I have seen with my own eyes and I didn't say a third party don't ship any other way I said they will not haul for amazon

A book ordered Dec. 7 has been laying in the DC mail facility for a week, it took it 8 days to get out of Texas. Something from 35 miles away took 12 days after sitting in DC for days. Another item ordered got delivered in only 5 days by the Post Office, it wasn't routed thru DC. On the other hand I placed an order yesterday and UPS delivered it today!!!!!
Merry Christmas all
I sent a package out early last week, paid for 2 day shipping and now tracking says Dec. 29th. I wonder if I can get my money back? LOL

I responded to what you said,

I would say Amazon and the fact that they send everything using the USPS ,

That is not 100% accurate as written. In my area, USPS delivers most of the amazon packages. But I have also received them from UPS and FEDex.
The post office is a near ideal choice for Amazon in rural areas, as they go to every residence daily anyway, and typically have low mail volume.

The boss ordered a glass shower door assembly a couple of weeks back. Last week the Fed Ex truck pulls up one day and the driver has box 2of3 (the fixed side panel of glass); the driver says, "That's all they put on my truck." The next day the same truck/driver pulls up with box 1of3 (the glass door).
The next day the same truck/driver pulls up with box 3of3 (the hardware); I told him that I considered this to be a Christmas miracle; I had figured that the hardware was for sure going to the bowels of the universe.

Happy to report that my .45 Kentucky finally made a move. Dropped at the post office on Dec 9th by the shipper, tracking shows it never left. Jan 2nd shows it is now in my city, roughly 2000 miles away without ever passing through any distribution centers. Not sure how?? But at least I should have it tomorrow or Tuesday.
Walk

My 2 day shipping package sent Dec 23 still not there, now tracking can't find it.
Even amazon is failing to meet their delivery time guarantees. In the past they have either shipped a replacement or refunded the price of the item. Might be costing them a fortune. If so have difficulty feeling bad for them. Now They dump pallets of stuff on our local PO loading docks and expect the small crew of USPS workers to sort and do final delivery. Amazon sends buyers a "Delivered" email (to get out of guarantee) but in reality it may take several days for actual delivery.
