What's the best neutralizer after you get the barrel browning like you want it.Remember the only dumb question is the one that goes unasked. Thanks in advance.

Baking soda is what they tell you to use. then put on a coat of linseed oil.

I just finished with browning my barrel. I wiped it with a baking soda/water solution. I did not use boiled linseed oil. It also suggested using wax. I did have liquid gunstock wax from Birchwood casey which also said it was safe on metal. Look at Underhammer kit for a photo of the browning.

I use baking soda. I give it a good rubdown with baking soda and rinse with water. I use 30 wgt. motor oil for the finish coat but most any kind of wax should work well also.
