Tomorrow I will be trying out my new 45cal Rice barrel, 42" long. I have 440 balls and .010 oxy-yoke patches. Any of you have a 45cal Rice barrel that can give me any advise with this new barrel.

I believe that you will need thicker patching. If you have the round bottom grooving, you will need patching of .015 or more to fill the grooves. I would suggest pillow tick.
 
It shot decent with the .010 patching, but I will try some .015 ticking after I shoot it in some.
