Yea I have loaded some stout shot loads, yesterday for the hell of it I loaded 120g FF with and over powder wad and card, then 3oz No.4 Shot and and over shot card. It digested it and blew it out fine. I loaded it 5 more times like that.

I would back that load off to about 90 grains of powder and no more than 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of shot or a single ball.
Especially with an Indian gun.
A steady diet of proof loads will lead to trouble.

I have a 10 year old Indian trade gun 20 ga that I proofed when I got it with 180 Gr 2f and round ball. Afterwards I developed my best load to be 120 Gr 2f with RBI’s. Same load with 2oz shot. I haven’t heard of many smoothies that group any better than mine . I’ve shot it over 500 times in that 10 years and if I use English flints it has been very reliable.

You, @SmoothboreMurph, will have to remove the barrel and look for markings under the barrel.

I second this. On the bottom of the barrel, probably near the breech end, you should find a few numbers (including the date the barrel was manufactured) and the word UDAIPUR stamped in. Udaipur is the city in northwestern India where pretty much all these guns are made.
