new bag

I already posted this on a different forum, but here goes anyway. Just finished this bag, it's lined and not water-proofed. Knife by Wick LRB, horn and powder measure by Hawkthrower.

Mike: Beautiful kit! Did you make the strap for the bag and horn, too? Nice stitch work and I like the button. Also like your choice of leather as it looks a bit distressed already.

Thanks, Bill! The bag is made from some elk hide I have had for many years, and got tired of seeing it laying around. Some of the guys make such wonderful looking bags, I just had to try it. Nope! I can't make 'em that nice.
I love that knife. It's extremely sharp, and holds a great edge, and is really light. THere are some artsy fartsy class acts on this forum.

Sorry I didn't answer your question about the straps, no I'm not talented enough nor do I have the patience to make straps like that. I forgot that you were doing that. You should post what you've made. Shayla makes nice straps. www.fiberwoodart.com

Shayna is a friend n I can say she does some awesome work. I have a horn strap done up to look like the flag n I love it. Every thing is woven tight and wears like iron. If you have a certain pattern in mind give her a holler, she is very adaptable--just some thoughts YMHS Birdman

I thought about scrim, but first, I'm no good at it, and second, I bought the horn from him because I liked the "grain" that showed.
