Fresh out of the shop today. This is my English trade knife blade, but with a full tapered tang and bone grips. The blade is 7 1/4" long of 01 vanadium steel. Thickest part of the blade is about 3/32" with a distal taper to the point. Weighs in at about 5oz. I haven't made a sheath for it yet, or even sharpened it. Hope you enjoy a look.

AS always very nice Wicke your work is never a disapointment :hatsoff: Did you use cattle bone from the butcher shop or did you buy yours in slabs ? How would you age the bone if you wanted to

Thanks LHunter. I'm going to stain the grips with leather stain, and age the steel. Not so much my idea. I kinda like it as is. These are slabs I picked up at a show. Probably buffalo. The Asian variety.

I think it would be a shame to stain the bone, but if you didn't make it for yourself, sometimes you gotta do what the customer wants.

It has a nice clean look. A really classy knife!

Wow..would have a real hard time put stain to that one! Slim and trim..Very Nice Wick  !

Wick, outstanding as usual! That one is easy to look at. The details like the tapered tang and the distal taper on the blade make it a great knife. Bet it feels good in the hand.

Wick, I love the look of that knife!

I wouldn't touch it. I'd let that handle pick up grim naturally and age that way.

Simple, elegant and straight forward. Beautiful work.

+1. I love that blade shape. Can't wait to get my trade knife kits from him. If they turn out a quarter as good when I'm done with them I'll be very happy.

The grips and blade absolutely need to be stained and aged. . . from constant and prolonged use! Simple and elegant were the first words that came to my mind also.

I handled this knife today, it looks better in person and feels better in the hand than it looks!
Outstanding as usual!
