I just finished a pair of buckskin pants. I know that they will stretch even after I soaked them and streched them. What I would like to know is there a way to get them to slide on your skin better. The inside seems to stick to my skin now while new. When worn or getting dirty they will be better. I haved heard that shaking baby powder in them can make them less sticky. What are your suggestions?

If you are going to powder the inside of them I would look at high grade talc. We use that on our drysuits seals around the neck and wrists for diving vs. baby powder. When baby powder gets moist it cakes up and becomes a sticky mess. The talc fares better. If it were me I'd just wear the skins as much as possible like tinkering around the house and garden and they will break in quickly rather than having them all gummed up.

Talc powder has long been a staple for getting cowboy boots on. If using a "baby powder" watch out! the corn starch powders will actually make the leather harder to slide on.
