I love mine, I can shoot all afternoon for 10 bucks! I kinda like that display stand you made too.

Glad you found these wonderful instruments. Accurate, comfortable to shoot and inexpensive to feed.

Now the addiction begins. Should you try a different caliber? Or a Remington style? Is that a Ruger Old Army in the gun store display? Can you load black powder in a case for a 45 Colt? How much should you grin when you outshoot a buddy's Glock with your 160 year old technology?

The great thing is you can feed this addiction slowly over a lifetime. :grin:

And I, too, like that display stand.

Thanks guys. Maybe soon I'll get the flint musket started. Until work space becomes available though I'll be shooting these.

Looks like a nice Western Electric 302 in the background. I picked one up about 15 years ago in an antique shop. Still perfectly usable, except when you're asked to "press 1" to procede... :haha: :thumbsup:

I rewired it to plug into a modern jack and ring on our line. No ringer volume control = ****** off wife and scared cats. Had to turn the bells so they wouldn't ring.

Yep ... very addictive!
Acquired my first cap and ball revolver about 1970. I have about eight of them now -- not a big collection but a good variety.
I just wish I could find an 1849 .31-caliber with 5 or 5-1/2" barrel. Shot a friend's years ago, with this longer barrel, and it so much better balanced than my 4" version.
Seemed to be more accurate too.
I learned one thing long ago too: buy a kit box a whole lot bigger than you think you'll need, because you'll surely fill it with all kinds of doodads, different caliber balls, etc.
Yep, an addictive, enjoyable sport.

I haven't yet but I am going to make some of the skillet corn bread.I am diabetic so I don't eat alot of traditional recipes anymore.
