Hey guys,
Yesterday I received my order for one of the Golden Age Flintlocks from Jim Chambers. Overall it seems like a pretty nice lock.
The lock is definitely solid and well built. The mainspring is very strong, much more then my Investarm Hawken rifle. Also one thing I noticed is that half cock and full cock are only a small distance apart, unlike my other flintlock which the half cock is, well about half of the distance to full cock.
The only thing that I had a question about is that the cock is not centered with the frizzen. Is this normal for this lock? In order to get the flint to strike evenly side to side it would have to sit a ways off to the right of the cock. Here is a picture.
Also the cock is a little crooked on the screw that holds it on as seen here and in the photo above.
Let me know if this is normal, or if I need to contact Chambers. I know they are pretty busy and I believe they are at Friendship this week so I figured I would ask here before bothering them.
Thanks,
Greebe
