I just got a 45 Flintlock Pistol on Gun Broker. The only marking is Spain on the bottom of the barrel. It shot just fine and looks good.

Here it is with two of my Colts. I think it's just a Jukar but it shot OK. Thanks again Zonie. :)
Yes that Pocket Navy is loaded. It sets on a night table.

I just purchased a Pocket Navy and wish to keep it loaded and available. What would you recommend for a good load behind a RB?

Mine is loaded with 18 grains of Swiss 3F and a wad lubed with Gatfoe #1 and a round ball. I just got some 125 grain Buffalo Bullet Conicals that were impressive out of that 1851 Navy at 30 yards so I might load them next time.

Is there a high level of humidity where you live? If so do you seal the caps with beeswax, nail polish, or some such to prevent moisture from contaminating the powder? Just wondering.

It's never lower than 25% in the house and usually way higher outside. I use nothing to seal the caps and have left a revolver and Hawkin 50 loaded over the fireplace mantle for over a year and they still shot fine.I do shoot the table guns at least once a month to be sure all's well.

just to see if it worked, i've kept a revolver (ROA) loaded, capped, and locked up for about two years here in southern Vermont ... when i took it out into the woods, it went off just fine on all cylinders.

make good smoke!
